The Crew with their Scott Voltage DH's

“We first started working with The Crew back in 2009 when we were working on the Kranked Revolve project, they were featured in the final segment and I was impressed with not only the vision for the segment but the build as well,” said Adrian Montgomery. “There have been so many group segments produced, but theirs was the most thought out and the work that went into that segment really paid off for the viewer. Fast forward to today, these guys are not only excellent riders but also builders, photographers and filmers. They really have it all going on and we are stoked to have them all on Scott Bicycles.”

“I am excited to be involved with a brand who listens to your feedback and provides excellent support. Scott has a history of supporting film projects and we feel that it’s a perfect fit for us as The Coastal Crew. “

“This is my first season working with Scott, and to have a group of dedicated people at Scott backing your goals and vision is simply a no brainer. Keep an eye and an ear out for a full rack of Scott Bikes aboard our trusty BlackBox Labs Van this 2011 season.”

It would have been nice to see them on a Canadian/Coastal brand, Knolly, Cove etc IMO

However ,it's still sick they got picked up.

Agreed- Keepin it real with Chromag and Sombrio tho

You are right. At least they are with Scott. For some mysterious reason scott bike rings with pro sh1ts in my mind. I'm going on the Scott website now, last I've checked they were rocking the super adjustable gambler... gotta check that bike in details.

I have a 2010 Scott Gambler 10. sick bike. I like it. I think its weird that I don't hear more people using them. Plus its weird that I don't see it or Scott on PinkBikes list of manufactures. I want to support them. I've asked if they were going to put it on there and they said they would eventually. That was last fall..... haha still waiting

unfortunately there's too many good Canadian rider's for all of our small company's to sponsor!!
  • 2 1
Man those bikes are dialed. Good to see all of them supporting the same company
  • 3 2
id like to see these 3 in a downhill world cup and see how fast freeriders are compared to the full on downhillers
  • 1 0
 Why?
  • 3 2
Consider Gee Atherton during the red bull rampage. He is insane fast, but his freeride was was less impressive than a lot of other guys.
  • 5 0
I have to somewhat disagree. Gee doesnt do "tricks" but i just re-watched the 2008 Rampage video a couple days ago and I was thinking to myself how freaking sick it is that he is able to go so fast and make it look so effortless, few can glide over terrain like him, I honestly enjoy watching him more than alot of "free-ride" guys.

Finally Scott gets some recognition! whenever I say i've got a scott people look at me and say what brand is that? It's good to know their great bikes will finally be appreciated!
  • 1 0
"taletotell" gee may not be that good at it but he came second?
  • 1 0
Gee is awesome. I was just saying that freeride is very different from racing. Watch him at the rampage. He is judged according to what he chooses to do and he does it spectacularly, but it is not nearly as big air/trick oriented as most of the other guys.

As to whether gee is "good at it". What is it? I know he's better at pretty much everything on two wheels than I am. He's just not famous for riding the way the coastal crew is and they aren't famous for riding like him so it will be interesting to see them race. That being his arena and all.

That is sweet!!! I was so sad when they said they would dispand. But now i just want one of their bikes!
  • 3 4
i hope the gambler doesnt get replaced by those downhill voltages thoughh... i like them better split up
  • 7 0
disband? Frown i must have missed that article!
  • 3 0
Those Voltages look sick! Hope to see some more rad vids!
  • 4 1
Ya, well the Gambler is more of a WC machine. The voltage should be more like a FR/DH rig. So really they are two different monsters.
  • 1 0
i know! Frown they really should start making webisodes again.. they where awesome! and ill bur ur old bike curtis if you read this! haha
  • 4 0
they were never going to disband, they just stopped making webisodes to move on to bigger and better things. There is is too much popularity in the coastal crew to just disband in their rise to success. I think they're going to make a full length film this year.. Norbs and Dunkerton both hinting at it in their quote there.

The Gambler is awesome, and I hope they keep it around. Its only real problem is in the weight department, which is why this beast was prob born. Easier to re-tool the Voltage into a DH bike by slacking it out and lowering the bb that try to shave weight off the 14.5 lb Gambler frame.
  • 1 0
I thought the reason they stopped making webisodes was that it was winter?
  • 1 0
I own a gambler, and its amazing, it rides way better than most rigs, plus mine is like 39 lbs, so its not even bad, your all just being a bunch of girls because your to lazy to actually use your muscles to move the bike... anyways, great idea for sponsoring the coastal crew, i love Scott bikes and can't wait to see their bikes being ridden hard. Smile
  • 4 0
I think the Gambler is sick but Im having trouble believing yours is 39lbs with the parts you have there.
  • 1 0
Just because it looks heavy doesn't mean it actually is, think of tubes, spokes, the fork isn't that heavy, shaved some weight with the type of pedals and stem, tubes, your only saying that because flatline's turn out to be pretty heavy bikes. Wink

Nothin wrong with a solid bike Smile
  • 1 0
My stock 2010 gambler 10 weighs just under 41 lbs..
  • 7 0
Good work guys! Great working with you last month and looking forward to more projects in the future.

Voltage FR is a pure freeride bike, good for fewer types of terrain, the top-end Gamblers are racer-oriented, and have MUCH more adjustability and are more practical for what I see the CC guys do. They aren't just dropping and hitting gaps, they're doing Shore style fast trails and DH runs, right?

SCOTT rocks. They're dedicated, and have a broad spec stable in each bike line.
My next ride is a SCOTT, for sure!

Though I liked seeing Curtis rockin a Knolly, it's great to see Scott supporting these guys. They shred as hard as anybody and I can't wait to see more Coastal Crew footage this year!

Couldn't have put it better myself m8.Congrats lads.

 I loved the KNOLLY, also!
  • 1 0
Yeah the new(ish) Podium all out DH beast is some bike.I loved the Voltage FR anyway, but this new 2011 Voltage DH takes all the genious of it's dad and put's it into an out and out DH chassis, with no doubt adjustability to suit any rider, which is Scotts Ace card.
A beautiful weapon of mess destruction.I think it out does the Knolly Delirium-T,hands down, but as for the Podium,i don't know. They're all beautiful to me,Knolly's,Scott FR's,but this new DH rig loox formidable.Again PROPS and congrats to the coastal krew for their Scott signing, can't wait to see some VOD'S with all 3 riding in a train on their new fleet,in some epic landscape.I'm itching already.Ha-ha.

I love my Voltage FR, I'm just curious.
  • 1 0
mega curious tooo!!!!! but i still gotta love my voltage fr, mega amazing bike without doubt
  • 1 0
Agree with you guys, voltage fr is the way to ride!
  • 1 0
these guys still hold the title for some of the best vid segments ever in my book
  • 3 0
 Awesome. Good for them.
  • 1 0
voltage's are sick but you can't beat a good gambler :-)
just wish they make a cross of the two!!!
  • 1 0
 Voltage DH?
  • 1 0
not a voltage DH, more like a slightly beefed up more adjustable Voltage
  • 1 0
What all are you trying to adjust? Voltage has quite a bit of adjustability and with the addition of an Angleset I can't imagine what else you'd want to change. Not being negative. Just wondering.
I guess I can understand wanting a beefier frame. But the FR is pretty solid.
  • 1 0
Little bit sad because Curtis left Knolly, but anxious for the 2011 Coastal Crew Webisodes.
  • 1 0
way to go coastal crew - Yeah! far better looking than the gambler - it worked fine but looked dog dooo
